Live Blog: 100 Years of Giving DC Fly-In

More than 200 nonprofit leaders from across the country have gathered in the Washington, DC today to meet with lawmakers and their staffs to urge them to protect the full scope and value of the charitable deduction, and even consider proposals to expand it. The effort is a part of the Charitable Giving Coalition’s ‘100 Years of Giving Fly-In.’

The participants actually gathered last night to go over the messages they want to convey to lawmakers about charitable giving and how it serves their communities.

We will provide updates throughout the day on Twitter (@ACReform) and on this blog. You can follow updates on social media by following the hashtags #ProtectGiving and #100yearsofgiving.

Members of the Charitable Giving Coalition  from 37 states ultimately met with more than 125 House and Senate offices, including 52 meetings with members of Congress who serve on the tax writing committees.
